35 years of excellence: the history of HEXIS self-adhesive films

This year HEXIS has the pleasure of celebrating 35 years of innovation, growth and achievements in the manufacture of self-adhesive films. Since 1989 the HEXIS Group has come a long way, defined by its commitment to quality, innovation and customer satisfaction. 

Here we are going to retrace that journey to highlight the reasons why we are now recognised as a manufacturer of high quality self-adhesive films. 

17 July 1989, the story begins 

Established in 1989 with a clear vision of producing high quality self-adhesive films for a variety of industries, HEXIS quickly positioned itself as a major player in the sector. 

In the 1990s, the group shifted the focus of its international development to the European market. It now operates a solid network of distributors on all five continents. In 1994, HEXIS UK was established in the United Kingdom as the first franchisee. Three years later, our team of enthusiasts launched our line of digital printing media. 

Innovation as a driver for growth 

HEXIS invests an average of 2.5% of its turnover in Research & Development to improve its products and meet the changing needs of our clients. Through our technical expertise and ability to adapt, HEXIS offers tailor-made self-adhesive solutions that stand out in the market. 

In addition, behind every innovation and quality self-adhesive film stands a dedicated and passionate team. Our employees are our greatest asset, and their expertise and commitment are essential to our success. With these dedicated teams and rigorous manufacturing processes, HEXIS achieved ISO 9001:2000 certification in 2005. As the years go by, HEXIS self-adhesive films are more and more recognised for their quality. For this reason, in 2010, a second production site opened in Hagetmau, in the Landes region. 

The story continues from year to year with the growth of our network of distributors, the set-up of subsidiaries, such as in the United States in 2020, and the commitment to constantly create new products.

As a responsibly-managed manufacturer, we are aware of our environmental impact and we are committed to adopting sustainable practices. HEXIS is doing its utmost to reduce its environmental impact every day. The objective is to produce self-adhesive films that not only meet the needs of our customers, but that are also environment-friendly. This is why more and more of our product lines feature PVC-free alternatives.
